Three Sisters Who Are Not Sisters, a melodrama
by Gertrude Stein |
imaginary beasts
directed by Matthew Woods |
"It's elemental, my dears!" In Three Sisters Who Are Not Sisters, an homage to murder mysteries, three sisters (who may or may not be real sisters) meet with two brothers (who may or may not be real brothers) and resolve to enact the murdering of each other.
Using her characteristic free association of words and images, Stein constructs a simple narrative that maintains an intense mood of mystery and melodrama as she leads us into the dark corners of children's imaginations.

The New Exhibition Room
directed by A. Nora Long |
What is the role of censorship in a free society? When the rights of the individual to free expression or privacy collide with the rights of the press, international security or just common decency, who wins? Inspired by mythology, silent film, Supreme Court precedences, and Sesame Street, Shh! is an ensemble-created piece that will explore these questions and the complexities of freedom and repression.

Awake/i slept for miles

Firmly (dis)placed in the No Man's Land between dream and reality, Awake / i slept for miles charts the internal topography of the less-than-lucid mind through a combination of hyperbolic/onomatopoeic language, clock-radio sound collage, and Emergency Procedure Aerobics.
